Popular Nigerian influencer, Hushpuppi and some of his closest associates including Mr Woodberry have been allegedly arrested by The International Criminal Police Organisation, more commonly known as INTERPOL, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
While there’s been no official confirmation of his arrest, Hushpuppi has been unusually scarce on social media for more than 24 hours. According to the report he was arrested on Tuesday at his Palazzo Versace residence in Dubai.
Yesterday a report in the United States of America claimed the money that was supposed to go to unemployed Americans could be in the hands of Nigerian scammers. The report claims “the Nigerian” is exploiting the current pandemic and committing fraud against several states unemployed insurance program scheme. The said monies are thought to be between USD30-100million per the Secret Service.
The source of Hushpuppi’s flamboyant lifestyle is unknown but he has been connected to alleged fraud in the past. One of his former allies, Mompha was arrested by EFCC last year. Hushpuppi recently purchased a new Rolls Royce that cost more than N150m, and earlier this week spent N8m to change the alloy wheels of his car. More later.
